Mission Statement: To build a capable, affordable cruising boat with readily-available skills, materials, equipment and facilities.
If, like me, you dream of getting out there and sailing/cruising the world's waters, this blog/site aims to show my approach to how to do just that. Capable cruising boats should not be limited to the reach of the rich and privileged. If you accept the premise that a 25 year working lifespan for your boat is plenty for you to achieve your dreams (seems reasonable!) and are not concerned about such capitalist constructs as resale value, then the capable cruising boat is within the reach of a meagre budget. Go for it!

Progress is quite good. Obviously, having a lovely long Easter weekend helped, although the weather was very variable - ranging from warm sunshine to freezing snowy conditions. Anyhow, all of the floor beams are now in position and I've started on the second laminate layer of the sheer clamp. Photos soon!

Video episode 29 is out, in which I fit the floor beams and talk about clamps various. Enjoy!

OK, I'm going to make a prediction, Tony: 4 April 2018 will be the date your Youtube channel hits 1000 subscribers (that's tomorrow). Good progress!

I've only just noticed this comment, Chris. It didn't come true, but we're getting there - 991 at the time of writing :-)
I'm in no rush, but am very thankful to all the people who've subscribed. It makes it all worthwhile.
