Mission Statement: To build a capable, affordable cruising boat with readily-available skills, materials, equipment and facilities.
If, like me, you dream of getting out there and sailing/cruising the world's waters, this blog/site aims to show my approach to how to do just that. Capable cruising boats should not be limited to the reach of the rich and privileged. If you accept the premise that a 25 year working lifespan for your boat is plenty for you to achieve your dreams (seems reasonable!) and are not concerned about such capitalist constructs as resale value, then the capable cruising boat is within the reach of a meagre budget. Go for it!

I posted my first ever patrons-only video post earlier this week. Now, I need to make something absolutely clear; I shall continue to produce my weekly free YouTube video blog posts of the boat build progress, and I shall continue working hard to make those videos as good as I possibly can. My free content is extremely important to me and it gives me quite a thrill that a lot of people seem to be enjoying the videos.

However, I also feel I'd like to do something special for my patrons and also to try to encourage more people to  become patrons and support me on Patreon. So, as I said, my first patrons-only post is up now. I shall try to post more specials, maybe every two weeks. I shall also look into Patreons 'Lens' feature, that allows creators to post 'behind the scenes' video posts that only stay available for a couple of days. As time goes on, I intend to increase this patron-only content in order to give real value to the good people who go that extra way to support me on Patreon.
